i am going to throw down the gaunlet.
those who know the truth but stay in anyways are complicit in actions of the jehovah witness organization.
while i am sympathetic to the very difficult choices that they have to make, their unwillingness to confront the jw enables the organization.. some of you may remember my story.
you're entitled to your opinion - like anyone else - no worries.
And I'm not feeling the slightest sense of pressure - like oneeyed said, if you've never been in, you won't fully understand..
The pressure from having to die at armageddon - the pressure of the cross looks and stare downs from fellow JW's - the pressure of ostracisim -official and unofficial. These things are much more than any pressure you could possibly apply via this board. I think most of us here are immune to "pressure" at this point - especially if your born into it.

I'm in - don't feel the least bit guilty. I did not ask for these circumstances, as a born-in.
And to awake to TTATT in mid-life creates complex scenarios that I have to carefully manage.
To engage in black and white thinking is to behave in a very similar fashion to WT beliefs. Everyone here has there own circumstance: married and financial status, unique family and extended family, age, career, education and personality, health, mental health etc....None of which we are privy too.
We usually have very little information by which we can judge or evaluate others choices. Personally, I won't try.
wow.
you read about it here.
but, it still doesn't prepare you.. our hall passed a resolution to give about 15,000 to the wt.
I wonder if this whole exercise is even truly about the monthly amount. Maybe the "jig is up" and its a one-time grab of cash before they they shut the whole WT entity down. tryin to stay optimistic...
No one seemed to object or really pay attention (how can one know, regardless).
Like I said, though, the elder did seem uncomfortable- but maybe if I imaged that
wow.

The monthly amount is 350
It's true, if the the end is so close, why not spend the billions of dollars from RE sales for the preaching work? Instead of creating a plan for a windfall and income stream.
Individual JW's are instructed to ignore any career advancement chances, to not invest. meanwhile, the leaders are setting themselves up nicely.
wow.

Wow. You read about it here. But, it still doesn't prepare you.
Our hall passed a resolution to give about 15,000 to the WT. (So, our bank amount can be at the "suggested balance". (Oh and thanks for giving us permission to keep some of what is our money. Everybody in the hall should be indignant...)
We had a separate resolution for a fixed monthly amount.
Its amazing. They'll receive these large amounts of cash without having to truly commit to anything, in return.
Maybe it was my imagination, but the elder seemed uncomfortable during the whole announcement.
i'm working on a short story/novella about a jw family.
it's called the opal ring.
i will be posting it in installments, and would like some feedback on it.
this is absorbing. please keep writing, Julia.
you read it here first!.
to all congregations.
re: midweek meetings during visit of circuit overseer .
Maybe the CO'sw and their wives are burnt out also. For them, the 2 week night meetings never stopped.
guy pierce was born into a large mormon family.
his mother and father were jack mormons, sympathetic to the mormon faith but not ved/ active.
afterworld war ll, his parents moved from utah to california, where guy was born on november 6, l934.when he was eight years old, his grandmother wanted three of her grandchildren to be baptized in the mormon church.

It seems real....
